ED SAMS is founder of Yellow Tulip Press as well as its principal author. A recognized authority on Lizzie Borden and the Fall River murders, Ed is a frequent speaker on the topic. In 1999, for example, he was invited to speak at Lincoln Center at an event celebrating the opening of the New York City Opera production of  "Lizzie Borden."

Ed received a B.A. degree in English from Mars Hill College, North Carolina, an M.A. degree in English from the University of Tennessee, and an MFA degree in creative writing from San Jose State University. In addition to his award-winning published writings (both for the Yellow Tulip Press and in numerous periodicals), he has taught college-level English and composition and acted as learning center coordinator for the last 20 years at a variety of colleges and universities. He currently teaches at San Jose State University.

Ed is also a prolific playwright whose plays have been produced by theater companies throughout California and elsewhere.
